The short answer
- Answers your calls at any hour, including while you are on another line or with a customer.
- Quotes anything on your price list, read off the list, never invented.
- Books the caller into a free slot that fits the job, in the calendar you already use.
- Tells you who called, what they wanted and what was booked, after every call.
It introduces itself as an assistant and tells the caller the call is recorded. Jobs that are not on your list get a callback or a site visit booked instead of a made-up price.
Who it is for
Businesses where the owner is the one holding the phone and the job at the same time.
- Trades and contractors, when the call comes in while you are on a job.
- Salons, when your hands are busy.
- Clinics, when the front desk is full.
- Small shops that get the same questions all day.
How setup works
- Free 20-minute reviewHow many calls you miss, what callers ask, and whether this is worth it for you. If it is not, we say so.
- Your price list, hours and job lengthsWe put your services, prices, opening hours and how long each job takes into the assistant, plus the answers to the questions you get every day.
- Your number stays the sameCalls you do not answer forward to the assistant, or it answers every call on a dedicated line. Your choice.
- Test calls togetherWe call it, you call it, and you listen to the recordings for the first week before you rely on it.
- Live, then kept upWhen your prices or hours change, the assistant is updated to match.
What it will not do
- Invent a price. If it is not on your list, it books a callback or a visit.
- Pretend to be a person. It says it is an assistant at the start of the call.
- Diagnose a problem or give medical, legal or safety advice.
- Book a slot your calendar does not show as free, or a job that does not fit the slot.
The Canadian rules that apply
Recording. Private businesses in Ontario fall under PIPEDA. The federal privacy commissioner's guidance is that a business must tell the caller the call is being recorded, say why, and get their consent. The assistant does this in its greeting, and a caller who carries on has consented.
Health clinics. Clinics in Ontario also fall under PHIPA. The assistant should collect only what it needs to book, such as a name, number and reason for the visit in general terms, not clinical detail.

Questions people ask
Will callers know they are talking to an AI?
Yes. It introduces itself as an assistant. Callers mind being misled far more than they mind talking to software, and a receptionist pretending to be a member of staff gets caught out by regulars.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. The usual setup forwards the calls you do not answer to the assistant, so your number stays exactly as it is. Some businesses prefer it to answer every call on a dedicated line, which also works.
What happens when a caller asks something it does not know?
It takes their details and books a callback or a site visit, worded as the normal next step. It does not guess prices or make promises your list does not support.
Can it book into my booking app?
It books into a calendar it can read, such as Google Calendar, and into many salon and clinic booking apps. We confirm yours works in the free review. If you book on paper today, the first step is moving the diary somewhere both your team and the assistant can see it.
Does it replace my receptionist?
It covers the calls nobody is free to answer. Whether it replaces anyone is your call.
